Introduction

When a theme is applied to a verbatim, it is also possible to define exactly which portion of text ("segment") within the verbatim theme applies to.


Accurately defining the position of each theme means it is more accurately highlighted in the display, and improves the accuracy of the codeit machine learning by providing more accurate and detailed data for it to learn from.


themeit and the codeit machine learning will automatically generate the segment details along with the themes automatically applied. However, you are able to adjust the segment details if you think they need refining. Themes that are applied manually by users will also need to have the sentiment rating manually applied, if required.


Required Steps

If you want to adjust the segment position for a theme within a verbatim, follow these steps:


  1. With the theme editor enabled, click the theme who's segment position you want to adjust


  2. Using your mouse, highlight the portion of text within the verbatim that relates to the selected theme


  3. Once selected, the relevant segment within the verbatim will be highlighted. At this point you can press "Apply Changes" to save your changes, or continue to make further changes.
