Introduction
Codeframes lie at the core of the Coding process. A Codeframe is a list themes that can be applied to Verbatims within a Task. Using a defined list of items ensures consistency when multiple people are working on a Task or when a Task is worked on over time.
Codeframe Structure
In codeit a codeframe will appear as shown below. The elements labelled are explained in the table below.
Element | Description |
---|---|
Text | A human-readable, self-describing text label for a theme |
Code | A convenient, short-hand label which is used to apply a theme to a verbatim |
Net | Used to group together related themes for analysis purposes and for convenience during Coding |
Sub-net | Used to create a hierarchical structure of Nets for analysis purposes and for convenience during Coding |
Count | A count showing the number of verbatims a theme has been applied to |
Percentage | A percentage showing the Count as a percentage of the total number of Verbatims |
