Introduction

A record in codeit represents the data collected from a single market research interview.

You can think of a Record as a single row of an Excel file and all of the data in the cells within that row.

Records Illustrated

If you were to upload the following Excel file to codeit then this would result in five records being created in codeit to store the data for each of the interviews.

How are records created?

Records are created when you upload new interview rows from a file, or when interviews are synced into codeit using a Data Link.

How are records used?

Records are primarily used to keep track of the number of interviews uploaded to codeit.
On the Project Dashboard you will see a column labelled "Records Uploaded". You can use this number to ensure the number of records in codeit matches the number of interviews in your survey.
