Introduction

The Brand coding panel can be accessed through the coding screen for Short Text task by clicking on the icon top right of the screen.

If there is no coded data, the "Extract" process in the Start Menu should be run first. You can learn more about it here.

This article details all the options available in the Brand Coding panel.

Coding data in the brand coding panel

The Brand coding panel displays all the brands (segments) found in the data. If the Delimiters have been specified in the settings when running the Extract process, it displays the verbatims split according to these Delimiters.

The brand coding panel allows to recode the data very similarly to the normal coding screen.

The segments can be selected by clicking on each segment. Shift+Click , Ctrl+Click and Tab are also supported to make sure the correct segment(s) are selected.
Once the segments are selected, it is possible to search and apply a code from the search box:

It is also possible to click on the code in the codeframe.

The codes can be removed by clicking on the "cross" icon or by removing the tag shown in the search box with the backspace key.
