Introduction
If you are importing Response Level Data, you will be presented with the "Define Layout" page.
This page allows you to specify what type of information each column in your file contains,
For example, which column contains your Id values, which column contains the Question identifier and so on.
Actions Required
Use the dropdowns on this page to assign a column to each of the required fields:
The required fields and their purpose is as follows:
Field | Description |
---|---|
ID Column | Contains the interview Id that each row of data relates to |
Variable Column | Contains the name/id of the survey question that each row of data relates to. Note, that in your file, a given question should only appear once for each respondent. If you have multiple responses per interview for a question, you should use the "Contains Looped Data" option below. |
Response Column | Contains a response given by a respondent to the question on each row |
Contains Looped Data | Denotes whether your data contains looped, iterative or multi-response data. If your data contains multiple responses for a question for each respondent, then you'll need to toggle this option on. |
Loop Identifier (Looped Data Only) | If "Contains Looped Data" is toggled on, the "Loop Identifier" field allows you to specify a column that identifies which iteration of the question a response relates to. |
