What is response level data?

In this data layout, each row represents a single answer to a single question on a survey as opposed to the usual layout where each row represents a whole interview.  


What is the format of response level data?

There are two different types of response level data, as shown in the below table.


Standard Response level dataIterative response level data
Each row contains one ID and one response.  Therefore one ID can cover multiple rows determined by the number of questions being imported.

Import considerations: 
  • Choose 'record value per row' (wizard screen 2)
Each row contains one ID and one nested level response from within a loop.

Import considerations: 
  • Choose 'record value per row' (wizard screen 2) 
  • Contains nested data (wizard screen 3) 
  • Choose nesting identifier (wizard screen 3)

How to import response level data

Here we explain more about the format of response level data and how to import it into codeit.  The Import Data Wizard in Codeit allows you to import 'Response Level' data from a csv, excel or text file.
