Introduction
codeit offers two ways to import and export data - files and data links.
Whilst the file based methods are familiar and easy, they do require extra steps and time.
Instead, the Data Links built into codeit give you a method to connect directly to your data collection platform.
Using data links, survey responses can flow into codeit and coded data can seamlessly flow back again.
This saves time and effort, compared with the file based approach, but also eliminates the risk of human error that comes with manual file handling.
Required Steps
There are three steps required when working with Data Links:
| Step | Description |
| Create Data Link | Create a link between codeit and the target survey system. |
| Link Project(s) | Link to a specific project in the target survey system by using the "Link Data" wizard |
| Sync Data | Synchronize data from/to the target survey system using the Sync Data dialog |
Supported Platforms
Currently, codeit supports data links with the following survey tools.
Generally speaking, the codeit user experience is identical regardless of the survey platform used.
However, there are some small differences to be aware of between some platforms which are documented below.
