Introduction
When you access coding Projects in codeit from the Project Dashboard you are free to work on whichever Project/Task/Wave etc.. you like. However, sometimes you may want more control over which coders can work on which data.
Allocations give you the ability to allocate Workloads to nominated External Coders, so only they can access them from the External Coder Dashboard.
When to use allocations
You would use allocations on any projects being worked on by External Coders, where you want to divide the work up between different people. For example, you might have a project that contains responses in three different languages. You may want to allocated each language to a different coder according to their language skills. Using allocation, each coder would only be able to access and work on the Workloads allocated to them.
Are allocated workloads accessible from the Project Dashboard?
Yes. The allocation mechanism only affects what External Coders see in the External Coder Dashboard.
All allocated Workloads remain accessible from the regular Project Dashboard.
Can I Allocate Quality Checking work?
Yes, each Workload can be allocated to one person for coding and to one person for quality checking or verification.
This means you can use an External Coder to code your Verbatims and nominate another External Coder to perform quality checks on the same data.
How to use Allocations
The following pages provide further information on how to use the Allocation mechanism within codeit.
